Episode 15: New Year’s Resolutions!

Laura and I are both huge believers in setting goals for ourselves, both throughout the year and also for New Year’s, since it’s such a great time to make a fresh start. There’s something about flipping open a new calendar or cracking open a new day planner or starting a new project that just seems to make so much sense starting on January 1st! New beginnings! So exciting.

On today’s podcast, we’re sharing some of our favourite resources, perspectives and guides to setting awesome goals so that you can create a life you love. We know it’s January 2nd today, but the first day of the year always seems to feel like we’re playing catch-up after the holidays, so today is as good a day as any to do some thinking and intention-setting for the year to come.

In the episode, we talk about how to set intentions vs. goals, and also how our intentions can help us make smarter, healthier goals for ourselves! Laura loves No Meat Athlete’s goal-setting framework because it helps us sort out our motivations for our goals and figure out the best actionable steps we can take to achieve them. This year, I absolutely adored completing The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte which encourages you to figure out how you want to feel and then set goals based on those feelings. Both are totally awesome tools.
