Today’s episode revolves around one of my favourite ideas: The Line.

I was first introduced to the concept of the line while I was in yoga assisting training. Essentially, anything below the line inhibits us from reaching the highest versions of ourselves: jealousy, anger, gossip, self-pity, self-doubt – all that fun stuff! Above the line are those qualities that we want to be striving for: patience, empathy, compassion, kindness, etc.

My favourite thing about The Line is that there really is no hiding from it. You know when you’re below the line. But never fear – Steph and I discuss our favourite ways to pull ourselves back above it:

  • Don’t beat yourself up for visiting below the line, but be aware if you are living below it. More on this idea here!
  • Talk through your feelings with a friend and ask them to hold you accountable in staying above the line
  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Practice gratitude often, in a way that works for you
  • Do something for somebody else
