Episode 5: Dealing With Stress

DSC_0004

Hi friends!

First things first: don’t panic. We’re not as stressed as we look (but thank you for your concern)! I should also address the burning question I am sure you all have: yes, Laura’s hair did have me on the verge of giggles throughout the entire recording of this podcast. It was really just something else.

This week, we’re staying #relevant by discussing stress management! It’s a super busy time of year for us students, and the stress levels definitely spike as we run around like chickens with our heads cut off *insert a more veg-friendly analogy here* to get everything done. What can be done about this crazy time? To find out, tune your ears in to the episode hereWhile you’re at it, you should probably rate us and subscribe to us on iTunes! We’d love ya for it!

The two of us are huge on to-do lists. We love ’em! Laura really likes the Todoist app to manage hers. I usually just write my lists on paper, but I’ve been testing out Todoist and I have to say I really like it! It’s very easy to use and syncs to your phone as well. I also mention a tool I LOVE for when I’m having a lot of trouble focusing: focusboosterapp! You can change the length of your focus sessions and your breaks, but this little app has gotten me through some pretty stressful times.

We also discuss re-framing the stressful sitch, we’re answering a great question from a listener, and Laura explains to us how she makes meditation work for her.

Also, if you don’t have time to listen to the whole episode because you’re stressed out, here are the take-away messages!

  • It’s all gonna be okay!
  • Remember to take care of yourself (sleep, exercise, healthy food, breaks for fun) or else you’ll burn the candle at both ends.

Thanks for tuning in! We so appreciate it. We also love hearing from you! You can get in touch with us in the comments below or follow @GreenGuineaPigs on Twitter. You can also now find us on Facebook!

xo,

-Steph
