Episode 55: Goals & Intentions for 2016

Intentions for 2016 >> Guinea Pigging Green

Hi friends!

We are so happy to have you here today, listening to our show. As we approach the start of the new year, we wanted to share our goals and intentions for 2016 with each other and with all of you. You can listen to the episode using the player below, or by subscribing to us on iTunes

We love this tradition of sharing our goals with each other. Before recording this episode, Laura listened to our goal-setting episode from last year at this time of year and really enjoyed it. If you’re curious, you can listen to that episode, or read my blog post with my goals for 2015.

  • We are big fans of Danielle Laporte’s Desire Map work for goal-setting from your values
  • I’ve chosen my word for the year for the fourth year running: light. Learn more about choosing a “one little word” here
  • If you struggle with accessing your inner truth and listening to what your intuition has to say about what it wants to manifest, check out Jess Lively’s resource about intuition
  • We love Elise Blaha Cripe’s goal trackers for keeping track of our daily goals
  • If you haven’t seen it yet, check out Laura’s new business resource for yogis, Little Black Leggings!

We want to take this opportunity to THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, for listening to our show. This is such a huge source of happiness and love for us, and we are so grateful that we are able to share it with like-minded, lovely people like you. We are so excited for what the New Year will bring for us.

The Green Guinea Pigs are wishing you all kinds of growth and love and happiness for 2016!

Episode 15: New Year’s Resolutions!

picstitchAs always, you can listen to the podcast here or find us on iTunes!

Laura and I are both huge believers in setting goals for ourselves, both throughout the year and also for New Year’s, since it’s such a great time to make a fresh start. There’s something about flipping open a new calendar or cracking open a new day planner or starting a new project that just seems to make so much sense starting on January 1st! New beginnings! So exciting.

On today’s podcast, we’re sharing some of our favourite resources, perspectives and guides to setting awesome goals so that you can create a life you love. We know it’s January 2nd today, but the first day of the year always seems to feel like we’re playing catch-up after the holidays, so today is as good a day as any to do some thinking and intention-setting for the year to come.

In the episode, we talk about how to set intentions vs. goals, and also how our intentions can help us make smarter, healthier goals for ourselves! Laura loves No Meat Athlete’s goal-setting framework because it helps us sort out our motivations for our goals and figure out the best actionable steps we can take to achieve them. This year, I absolutely adored completing The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte which encourages you to figure out how you want to feel and then set goals based on those feelings. Both are totally awesome tools.

Some other things we mentioned in the podcast:

Dr. Meg Jay’s TED talk about why your 20’s matter

We absolutely love setting goals – how do you feel about them? Do you have any tips for setting great goals? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below or on Twitter @GreenGuineaPigs!
