Episode 57: The Insta 100 Challenge

Insta 100 Challenge >> Guinea Pigging Green

Hi friends!

This week we’re talking about a social media challenge that we created called the Insta 100 Challenge! To listen, click on the player below or go ahead and subscribe on iTunes right here.

So what the heck are we talking about – what does “Insta 100” mean? Well, we can explain the whole challenge in one sentence:

Reduce the number of people you’re following on Instagram to 100 or less.

Whoa! Kind of a wacky idea, right? Especially if, like Laura and I were, you are currently following 300+ people right now.

But the reality is, doing this “challenge” was totally in line with our values of abundance, being essential, and spending less time on social media. We felt like our Instagram accounts were holding us hostage! We constantly felt behind, like we needed to catch up, like we were missing out on something, like our lives weren’t measuring up in some way.

The challenge helped us to kind of break away from those not-so-great feelings, so we wanted to share it with our listeners if this is something you’d be curious to try.

One thing that’s important to mention is that we’re not saying to arbitrarily cut people out just for the sake of it! This “challenge” is all about being more mindful and truly consider how things (yes, including your social media accounts!) make you feel and how they line up with your values.

Tune into the episode to learn more! And if you do end up trying the challenge (in whatever way that looks like for you!!), please let us know in the comments below! Or you can get in touch with us @GreenGuineaPigs on Twitter or Instagram.

Thanks for listening! We appreciate you very much.

Episode 37: Presence

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having an excellent week so far. You can listen to the show by streaming it below or by subscribing to us on iTunes here!

Staying present in the moment is one of those things I think I’ll be struggling with my whole life, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great challenge to try and tackle! As Laura put it, “It’s a mountain with no top”. Isn’t that a beautiful idea?

That being said, there are still some resources that have been helpful to us along our journey to finding more presence in our lives and we talked about them on the show:

  • We both absolutely loved the Lululemon Give Presence campaign. You can watch their wonderful video and find some more great quotes about presence here.
  • Baron Baptiste says you are either now here or nowhere. Read more about this powerful idea here.
  • Marie Forleo is one of our spiritual mentors in life and career and her thoughts on presence are always so juicy. We loved this one about planning vs. worrying, and this one about fast-tracking the life you want.
  • There will probably never be a time when we don’t need to dot b (stop and breathe).
  • Leaving the church of self-improvement: an interesting perspective from Danielle Laporte.

How about you? Do you struggle with staying present, whether it’s in small ways like everyday conversations or in bigger ones like your current career? We’d love to hear what you think of the episode here in the comments below, or find us on Twitter or Instagram.

Thanks for listening!

Episode 23: How to Get The Most Out of Your Day

Hello friends!

Today’s episode is all about how to make sure you are using your 24 hours in a meaningful, productive way. Sound good? You can listen in right here, or check us out on iTunes

We all have 24 hours in a day — but it doesn’t always feel like it, right?

The other day, I stumbled upon The Productivity Wheel on the Daily Muse (a career site /my current obsession). It gave me a cold, hard reminder that I’m not spending enough time on some really important stuff like friends, family, yoga, and even this podcast! In a bit of a panic, I sent the Wheel to Steph to get her two cents.

As you may or may not know, my co-host is a productivity master. If you read her blog, you’ll know what I mean. Steph is always inspiring me with the personal projects she takes on and she was the perfect interviewee for this episode.

Some of the many tips that you’ll find in the show:

I’m super excited for this episode and can’t wait to get the discussion rolling on how we can all make the most out of our days! Connect with us in the comments or on social media, and have an amazing (productive) week.
