Episode 33: A Beginner’s Guide to Triathlon with Marina Simeonova

Running a Triathlon with Marina Simeoneva

Hey everyone! We’re really excited about this episode – we’re talking to our friend Marina about completing a triathlon! Don’t worry, the podcast is aimed at beginners, even (and especially) those of you who don’t think you’d ever be able to do a triathlon. Spoiler alert: you can. As always you can listen to the episode right here or by subscribing to us on iTunes!

Here are links to some of the things we discussed in this episode:

  • Marina joined the McGill Triathlon Club last summer, which is open to all levels (and not just McGill students and faculty)
  • She completed the Toronto Triathlon Festival, and her big dreams for the future are doing a full marathon and a Half Ironman!
  • Marina doesn’t believe you need any fancy equipment to do a triathlon – just a bike and your running shoes. But she also wears a tri suit to make those transitions a little easier.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this episode! We were endlessly inspired by Marina’s story because she started as a complete beginner but achieved something totally incredible. Would you ever consider training for a triathlon? Do you have any additional questions for Marina? Let us know in the comments below, or on Twitter or Instagram.

Thanks for listening!

-Steph
